You’re Bloody Marvelous You Are

Today’s Guest Post is written by the talented  Melissa Phillips; a singer/songwriter from London. Melissa is active on Twitter (click here) and you can also see her on You-tube.

Rejection is part of the music and film industry, you get used to not getting your hopes up and your are constantly preparing for another let down. However, once in a while, just now and again, someone out-of-the-blue tells you that they believe in you.

They tell you that your work inspired them. That they enjoyed it, felt it, were moved by it.

And just those tiny words of encouragement are enough to spur you on again. To make you believe in yourself and realize that although it’s never easy, you just have to keep going.

So why don’t you find someone today and tell them just how bloody marvelous they are?

Creating from your Soul

Today’s Seven Sentence Blog is bought to us by Lauren. You can read more of Lauren’s work by following her on twitter (click here). She is the writer of some very powerful haiku’s in only 140 characters. Comment below and partake in a discussion…

For me, creativity comes most often, when I am quiet and not intentionally thinking about anything, many times just before falling asleep or when I am resting where it is quiet and peaceful.

I think of this as coming from my soul or spirit, a place where my truth, creativity and faith lives. I have much more faith in my writings when I stay close to my soulfulness rather then when I try to create from my mind alone.

Many times it can be very challenging for me, not to go back and change what I wrote the first time, thinking I can improve something. When I change things too much, I find I end up losing the very thing that I wanted in my art.

My art loses the soulfulness, my truth, the ability to deeply touch others. These are the very things I strive for in my writings so I try very hard to get out of my own way and just allow my soul to do the talking.

Setting the World on Fire

The Bishop of London began the Royal Wedding sermon with this statement: “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire; so said St. Catherine of Siena.”

I’ve been reflecting ever since: Am I being who I was meant to be?

Many of us spend a lifetime trying to figure that out, while others spend just as much energy hiding from it.  What if we simply embraced life’s opportunities?  What difference could we make by using our gifts, whatever they are, to their fullest capacity?  How could we influence our corner of the world toward peace, love, and joy?

If you did, and I did, and he did, and she did…imagine the possibility of setting the world on fire!

The above was a Guest Post from very talented Eleanor Biddulph. Eleanor’s details are below… be sure to check out here work.

Do you master the alchemy of creativity?

  1. Could it be that the ethereal nature of fleeting, mental images, taken from the holographic fabric of multi-verses become the patterns for what we create in life?
  2. Thoughts that will be forgotten if we don’t harness their power on our minds, or represent them in a medium of choice, in time.
  3. How do you manage to capture  one single thought and allow it to big-bang into a genesis of ever-expanding universes and realities?
  4. Do you practice “dream catching” to keep a constant flow of ideas that your conscious mind transmutes from mental to physical energy, and into your work of art?
  5. Do you surf the waves of a common consciousness or Zeitgeist, reflecting an outer world?
  6. Do you take spoon fulls of the Quantum Minestrone of your inner worlds that enter the creative process to manifest in sounds, words, shapes, or images?
  7. No matter how you use your raw materials, as long as you master the alchemy of creativity and turn your wealth of unceasing originality into an abundance of life-enriching creation.

Dream Catching

This great “Seven Sentence” story was sent in to by R.G. Ryan out of Las Vegas. RG is an amazing writer and you can check out more of his stuff at R.G.Ryan

He sits there day after day in an office cubicle looking for all the world like one of the characters from a Dilbert comic strip…the only difference is, their lives are funny, and Duane’s is anything but.

He typically wears nondescript clothing stretched tightly over a body that has seen way too many double cheeseburgers; his face unremarkable save for the uncommonly sad eyes that peer in stuporous boredom through comically thick glasses.

Sometimes during the long, often sleepless hours of the night he allows his mind to roam freely across the landscape of the life he dreams of living—a best-selling novelist writing stories of passion and power.

But then the morning comes and with it the cold reality that dreams…are just that.

I’ve met many people just like Duane who have snuffed out the last, flickering embers of their dreams believing with a desolate conviction that there is no use in clinging to that which can never be.

Desperation is a relentless gray stalker, following us down the days, intent on sapping the last vestiges of hope from our souls and thereby turning destinies into a sad caricature of what might have been.

One songwriter has said, “If wishes were horses then dreamers would ride,” and this brief blog post is a call for dreamers to saddle up, because nothing beats despair like a well-envisioned dream and the one who walks steadfastly, unwaveringly toward its realization.

How to be a “love magnet”…

This most excellent post is written by my new friend and Guest Blogger Dave Knight from Northamptonshire, England… Way to go Dave thanks for being our first Guest Blogger… add your comments and start a conversation with Dave...

It is when we are ‘still’ that our inner child becomes free. Our constraints are loosened, so that nothing can hold us back. There is no place we cannot be and there is no soul whose presence can’t be felt or seen. There is nothing that cannot be achieved if we remain in this place of peace and truth.

As time goes by and our ‘light’ becomes brighter, the creativity ‘within’ us expands and develops too. The gifts that we possess become focused and our abilities grow in so many ways. We need to remember, all our gifts (both spiritual and otherwise) are already in us and so that when we are ready to live in love, share love and be love, then true love is always returned ten fold back to us.
