Hanging around with the same crowd day after day is bad for the soul.
Diversity breathes life and homogeneity shrinks and simplifies an individual into an easily repeatable clone.
We’re all tempted to surround ourselves with friends who think like us, act like us, dress like us, friends who make us feel good in who we are, friends who challenge us not.
Do not make a bed so comfortable for your soul that it lies down for all of life never to regain its own two feet.
Am I being too cryptic for you?
Life is found on the edges, diversity causes us to wait before we speak, to consider another’s perspective, and to unclothe ourselves of any self-absorbed assumptions.
Unless we embrace different worlds, our own world will lose contact with reality and drift off into its own eternal oblivion.
