Real Thought Leaders Have This Special Quality

Catalyzing new ways of thinking in others is a lot like moving….really big, heavy furniture.

It is nearly impossible to move multiple, sizeable pieces of furniture simultaneously, at least by hand.

And it is also difficult for anyone who wants to change things to move furniture in the lives of others while still carrying around their own misgivings, deficits and moral incongruencies.

How can we even begin to portend truth or a deep heart work when we are still backlogged in our own unforgiveness, mistruths, self deceit or hatred?

You can only limp along for so long before your inner mess begins to seep.

If you’re on the ambition wagon and don’t know how to slow down long enough to deal with your own personal journey, then perhaps it’s time to take a sabbatical?

Because the people for whom you are privileged to “move”, deserve the best “you” and the best you is the one who cares for their personal life seriously and continually.

Yes! This is exactly what I needed to hear today. This very idea has been kicking round in my head for the last few days. I’ve been thinking/meditating on how to move forward with catalyzing others to be more open to ideas, and getting nowhere. I’d more easily hold back the tides. It’s time to do some self work to see what I have to learn from the universe. Many thanks.

My policy is to never bother trying to change or move anyone. I can only do that for me. If I am lucky enough to have this affect on someone, then it is very fortunate and quite by chance.

I guess that makes sense for the work that you do BUT some people create work that is aimed influence culture or fight injustice so the “moving” is really an essential part of the job.
