It’s just possible that the externally impoverished soul has a wonderful story to tell you. Your judgement will nearly always get in the way of your listening.

    I’m not sure how anyone with a conscience could do this anyhow. Mocking can be lots of fun as Oscar Wilde demonstrates, but not to someone who suffers as the poor do.

      I think it is often more subtle than out right mockery, a sense of distain or a feeling of greater importance?
