How Age And Failure Can Make You Nicer

broken beauty

When I closed my eyes, I saw a picture of a rusty old gutter with a hole in it.

Now you could look at this rusted out old piece of guttering and say that it was not good for anything anymore. It was designed to carry water from the roof to the drain and now it can’t do it’s job efficiently anymore… trash it.

But that rusted old piece of gutter was good for one thing though. It was good to the piece of grass that that lay underneath that rusty old hole. While the rest of the lawn was brown and dry this piece of grass remained green and watered.

Sometimes we leak goodness out of our rusty broken parts… age and failure have humbled us and made us more useful.
