How To Be A Truthful Artist

You must desire truth.

If you see truth as an ambivalent, post modern, unobtainable, relative phenomenon then how will you ever pursue it and find it.

Likewise… if you see “truth” as an absolute, easy to find thing that you already have within your grasp then you probably won’t search for it either.

Religion has often muddied “truth” oversimplifying it and alienating people who really want answers.

A genuine artist must pursue truth.

They will search for it and they will continue to find it. BUT they will always search for more.

    Lovely post, Geoff.

    However, I do see truth as an absolute. After all, if truth is not an absolute, than by default it becomes a relative phenomenon; ambivalent, post modern and unobtainable.

    The truth may not be easy to find, but is plainly evident for those who will allow themselves to see it…

    Unfortunately, however, relativism (‘Your truth’) has “muddied” the truth by making it overcomplicated. For instance, “The 15-Steps To The 12 Rules of Obtaining The 38 Levels of Personal Enlightenment & Truth By Embracing Your Inner Child, Getting in Touch With Your Feminine Side, Thus Reaching Nirvana and Escaping The Experience of the 12 Levels of Hell!” {not a real book title, obviously, but you never know who may be headed out the door as we speak to find it ;-) }

    The truth lies all around us, if one would simply relax and enjoy it, it can and will set you free.

    Blessings,

    - James

      Yes but no one person has the complete handle on the whole truth… an object doesn’t look the same from every angle… even though it is the same object?
