Before Eve ate the Rotten Apple


Once upon a time the opening line of anything creative was critical for engaging your reader’s attention; this still hasn’t changed.

In a blog, your title is vital for capturing your reader attention, and this should form a one two punch with the opening line of your blog post. Think of it like a newspaper headline and the intro underneath; or think of it like a tweet or a status update.

There are really are no rules, only the strong value of desiring to stimulate the imagination of your reader. Interestingly the best film titles usually contain a heavy dose of irony; a screenplay of mine is titled “The Emancipation of Putz,” layers of irony there.

Images, metaphors and questions are also great tools to engage your readers. Images work because they cause the reader to “see” an image and hence their imagination is engaged.
