The Moving Stories Jesus loves…

As a person who has a deep and genuine faith I am fascinated by the way “art” can be drafted off into either the “religious” or “secular” category.

his division of art is a dangerous thin;, for both the artist and their audience. For authentic faith cannot and should not be separated from everyday life… for ALL of life is sacred. In total honesty, some of the most spiritually significant times in my entire life have occurred whilst sitting on the crapper in a public toilet on the wrong side of town.

As we separate off our art, so we divide and separate ourselves.

The dirty, filthy realities of everyday life needn’t be avoided, reprimanded or subjugated in our spiritual music, stories and films… neither should the search for the “spiritual” be neglected in the secular creations of  modern-day artists.

To do either would to be less than human and less than truthful.
