How to be a “love magnet”…

It is when we are ‘still’ that our inner child becomes free. Our constraints are loosened, so that nothing can hold us back. There is no place we cannot be and there is no soul whose presence can’t be felt or seen. There is nothing that cannot be achieved if we remain in this place of peace and truth.

As time goes by and our ‘light’ becomes brighter, the creativity ‘within’ us expands and develops too. The gifts that we possess become focused and our abilities grow in so many ways. We need to remember, all our gifts (both spiritual and otherwise) are already in us and so that when we are ready to live in love, share love and be love, then true love is always returned ten fold back to us.

This Blog Saved My Life…

This Seven Sentence Blog saved my life in a way that almost too incredible to imagine.

You may not be aware of my story… I started this blog after a miraculous chance encounter with a stranger on a train in London (read about it here). Two and half years later and 665 posts later and I am still going strong… How did blogging save my life?

This blog saved my life, because it provided me with a creative outlet, it gave me a voice, it offered me an audience. For the artist who is waiting for their big break a “blog” is an almost essential form of self-expression.

Starting Monday we will be revamping “Seven Sentences” there are some very exciting things afoot… just you wait till Monday…

Wrong Predictions

Famous Wrong Predictions:

In the world of art & entrepreneurship be encouraged… when it comes to innovation no one really knows anything…

1. “Drill for oil? You mean drill into the ground to try and find oil? You’re crazy.” Opponents to Edwin L Drakes wrongly predicting his plan to drill for oil in 1849 would fail.

2. “We don’t like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out.” Decca Recording Co. infamous rejection of the Beatles in 1962; wrong again.

3. “I’m just glad it’ll be Clark Gable who’s falling on his face not Gary Cooper.” A famous wrong prediction from Gary Cooper as he decides not to take the leading role in “Gone With The Wind.”

4. “Who the hell wants to hear actors talk?” H.M. Warner on having talking in movies? Warner Brothers, 1927.

5. “So we went to Atari and said, ‘Hey, we’ve got this amazing thing, even built with some of your parts, and what do you think about funding us? Or we’ll give it to you. We just want to do it. Pay our salary, we’ll come work for you.’ And they said, ‘No.’ So then we went to Hewlett-Packard, and they said, ‘Hey, we don’t need you. You haven’t got through college yet.’” Apple Computer Inc. founder Steve Jobs on attempts to get Atari and HP interested in his and Steve Wozniak’s personal computer.

6. “You’d better learn secretarial skills or else get married.” – Modeling agency,wrongly rejecting Marilyn Monroe in 1944.

7. This is one of my favorite wrong prediction“Everything that can be invented has been invented.” Charles H. Duell, Commissioner, U.S. Office of Patents, 1899.

Does anybody know anything? These Wrong Predictions suggest otherwise…

…one glorious moment…

I am writing a new screenplay at the moment, it’s an action piece, a post apocalyptic western set in a world much different from ours. As I create, rather find the characters, I am struck by the notion that for the most part our lives are very ordinary… But each of us are searching for that one glorious moment where we are truly ourselves, when we transcend and do something that is simply extraordinary.

These glorious moments are the focal points of all our dramatic narratives… the magnificent moments which inspire and move others to dream and imagine.

A person or a character probably only has 3 or 4 of these moments in their life, the rest of the time it is the “ordinary,” the hard slog, the monotonous, the searching, the failing, the finding, the losing… Each a part of the shaping and preparing for that one glorious moment.

No character lives in that glorious moment for ever… not this side of eternity anyway.

… dreams reborn…

Continuing from yesterday… if your dream has died, do not despair for it will be reborn; what you dreamed once you can dream again. I say again do not despair.

For we see so little of our dream, we understand only the tiniest portion of our own story, we see only the tiny thread of a great narrative that is being woven throughout all of time. Perhaps your dream had to die to germinate. Perhaps you believed it to be about one thing but it is/was about so much more!

Our dreams don’t exist in isolation, they are not woven and spun by the magic in our own minds, they are (I believe) planted inside of us by the hand of God himself.

The tomb was empty on Easter Sunday morning, what was forever lost was suddenly an miraculously forever found… do not despair… ask for another dream.
