How To Find Gold At The End Of A Rainbow

Where is your deepest regret, for there lies your greatest treasure?
There is no pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, although you may search you will not find.
Rainbow gold is an illusion, but real gold exists and is close at hand.
Gold is buried deep within the surface of the earth, sometimes under rocks of bitterness, or underneath a sewer of discontent.
Real treasure only brings pleasure when it is shared.
Where your heart is, there your treasure is also.
So fill your life with things you won’t regret, not the illusion of gold, but the shared treasure of living for someone else’s pleasure.

There are voices in my head…

There are voices in my head; they’re ringing in my ears. Who do they belong too? Actually they belong to you and other people.

Opinions are everywhere, they are the most freely expended commodity on the market. You don’t even have to shop for them, they are delivered straight to your door for free.

Hmmm… actually listening to another persons opinion can cost you everything you have. Conversely, any opinion (good or bad) can be the most extraordinary gift for a grounded creative person, willing to see an opinion as a valuable insight into the mind of another.

A little click can go a long way…

I really need your help… You can help me by clicking on these links and telling all your friends about what I am trying to do here. You can do this through word of mouth, via email, by tweeting this blog or by sharing it on Facebook.

It seems cheeky, weak or even vulnerable to ask for your help in this way. But I need to be humble and admit that I can’t do it on my own… The more people that join this blog, the greater our internet statistics and Facebook memberships that we have the better. It’s a key statistic that will encourage investors to our fantastic project.

And so I humbly request your help…

You help me a little… everyone helps me a lot!

We often don’t realize how much we can help each other, what a huge difference a little act of kindness or generosity can make.

This reality is amplified, when collective acts of kindness are multiplied exponentially together in the context of healthy community. If 10 of your closest friends simply smiled at you everyday, you would probably feel like a million dollars when your head hit the pillow every night.

It’s the constant encouragement and support from friends and blog readers that keeps me believing in my film-making journey, all those individual words of encouragement create a massive drive to succeed. Corporations, Coaches, Managers and Mentors are not a healthy necessity, what we really need is a community of friends; believing, helping and sharing life together. The Internet is an ideal vehicle for connecting all of us together; creating communities of nurture and support, that move beyond the screen into real relationships, real events, real projects and genuine encouragement and support.

Of course the reality is, many of us are tempted to remain isolated, to keep control and to make it on our own… which is why we don’t feel like a million dollars when our head hits the pillow each night.

So do you want to know the future…

Transmedia Storytelling is coming, and it is rushing towards us like a tidal wave.

Transmedia is the telling of a story across a variety of genres and platforms. This used to be a more difficult, because although several different platforms have existed for some time (Television drama, Documentary, Feature Film and Internet Video) accessibility, interactivity and sharing took too much effort. But the territory has shifted significantly in the past 3-4 years.

Bandwidth improvements, computer prices, and most importantly the huge growth of the social networks have connected filmmakers to their audiences and the audience members to each other, in a fashion that we have never experienced or seen before.

It’s a brave new world where an innate understanding of people and story will soon become Paramount (literally); the temptation for many will be to make it all about technology but nothing could be further from the truth… it will be all about people and relationships.

I failed to impress…

It is important in a town like Hollywood to fail to impress. It’s important because succeeding to impress, could possibly leave your body short of its soul. That’s the major problem with networking and ass kissing, you forget who you are because you are to busy trying to impress somebody else.

Who are you? And who “REALLY” knows you (the most intimately wonderful and terrifying secrets that lie in your innermost). These questions are far more pertinent than the impatient and imprudent expectations that imply … to be someone you must know somebody.

When everyone is talking dribble and smiling falsely over a cocktail, the only way to truly impress is to fail miserably and simply be yourself. Being authentic and truthful is the simplest and yet most difficult thing to do… especially without the Grace to fail and accidently reveal yourself.

Getting shit under your manicured fingernails…

Some of you maybe upset with the cuss word in the title of my last two blogs. Some of you maybe so upset that you unsubscribe from this blog.

But what you should know is that every sixty seconds two children in the world are sold into sexual slavery… It is a beautiful world, and a wonderful life full of opportunities. This is definitely true for you, if you are able to read this blog; and you shouldn’t feel guilty about it at all; in fact it should fill your heart with gratitude and awe!

But it is not such a beautiful world, and the opportunities are very few, if you are seven years old and been sold five times a night on the streets of India, and neither is it such a beautiful world, if you are a Russian teenager being farmed out to the rich and famous from brothel shops in West LA.

If things are to change, someone, maybe you or me, may have to get a little shit under our manicured fingernails.
