More Oil is spilt in Nigeria every year but no one cares…

I have to take a day away from writing about film to concentrate on this oil being spilt in the Gulf of Mexico… Actually I want to leave Gulf and travel thousands of miles across the Atlantic to the Nigerian Delta. Here are some interesting facts…

40 Percent of all US oil importation comes from Nigeria.
More Oil is spilt every year in Nigeria than has been spilt in the Gulf of Mexico.
The life span of the people affected in the rural communities of the Nigerian Delta has fallen to less than forty years.

Is it possible that because this spill happens in African, the oil companies and those with Political Power really don’t care?

P:S: The above information was contained in an article written in the Guardian Newspaper written in Britain. Read it here

Black Water in the Garden of Eden
This is where their children fish.
This is someones backyard.
Our oil on African Skin

  1. GREED is the cause. We have many capped oil wells in the us.They would not be profitable enough.Alaska’s oil goes to Asia for bigger profit.Sarah Palin choked on the question,What happens to Alaska oil?She never answered.Sometimes I wonder if God said ooops when he created humans. When people do horrendous things in the name of the creator.Sonny:-((((
