We’re all broken

There is no place for arrogance or bigotry in art, no place for judgement or the dehumanizing of people into stereotypes. Just as normal human relationships begin to deteriorate the moment one person considers themselves superior to another, so the artists relationship to his art/audience disintegrates when judgement becomes a factor.

Judgement is a factor the moment an actor considers themselves better than the character they’re playing. Empathy is the way into any character, we must simply acknowledge that we are all broken, and we are individually capable of any act good or bad that any human being as ever committed. I realize that “belief” is offensive to many people but if it’s not true then you are saying that some people are superior to others… We’re all deeply broken and in search of a cure… and this is the backbone of our art.
